In a further step towards innovation, Grupo Pesquera has developed a range of 100 per cent natural products: extra virgin olive oil, cheese and chickpeas. Alejandro Fernández’s estate in Zamora, Dehesa La Granja, boasts optimum conditions for the artisanal production of such exceptional gourmet produce. According to Alejandro “they are the ideal match for the wines made at our four bodegas”.
This exceptional extra virgin olive oil is made following traditional methods from the Picual and Arbequina olive varieties that are handpicked in the Dehesa la Granja estate olive groves. It is characterised by its bright green colour, fruity profile, crisp green almond aroma and balanced flavour, and is exceptionally pleasing in the mouth.
With its unparalleled flavour, this cheese puts even the most sophisticated palates to the test. Handmade from the raw milk of the Dehesa la Granja ‘churra’ sheep herds, the whole process is carried out in a modern cheese factory that has been built on the estate and there the cheese is subject to a 6-month ageing process.
These gourmet chickpeas are grown naturally, without any chemical treatments, and boast a uniform and buttery taste with a soft, smooth coat. They come in 1 kg bags. Their properties have been recognised under the EU’s Fuentesaúco Protected Geographical Indication (PGI).
