Alenza Gran Reserva 2006 was awarded the highest score for a DO Ribera del Duero wine in the Decanter AWA, the prestigious UK wine magazine’s yearly wine competition in Asia. A score of 96 out of 100 and a Platinum Medal classify this Condado de Haza wine as one of the best in Spain.

In its 6th edition, DAWA has become the most important wine awards competition on the Asian continent. An opinion ratified by leading experts from the Asian wine sector, whose principle goal is to provide verified information to consumers.
Alenza is the result of the diligent work carried out over the past four decades by the Condado de Haza bodega, owned by renowned winemaker Alejandro Fernández. This exceptional Gran Reserva is made traditionally by fermenting the must together with the stems – in other words non-destemming – using grapes grown on centuries-old vines in the Viña Valera vineyard from outstanding harvests that boast the level of quality required. This natural, unprocessed wine is a true reflection of its native land, an exceptional terroir on the banks of the mighty River Duero which affords the wine unique nuances. Intense maroon in colour with a cherry-red rim it emits aromas of wild fruits with balsamic and mineral hints. A smooth, intense finish in the mouth leads to a fruity aftertaste. This wine is, without doubt, an excellent value-for-money choice and is endorsed by two of the most important awards in Asia: the Decanter AWA and the China Wine and Spirits Awards.
