Alejandro Fernández awarded Gold Medal for Most Outstanding Professional Career
The Spanish Government’s Council of Ministers has awarded the Gold Medal for Most Outstanding Professional Career to Valladolid winemaker, Alejandro Fernández in recognition for a lifetime of endeavour and development in his tireless quest for a job well done, quality and excellence. Alejandro has been dedicated to the wine industry for more than 40 years, promoting DO Ribera del Duero, the internationalization of wines from Spain, and wines from Castilla y León, becoming the ambassador par excellence of the Spanish region and Spain itself.
The Medal is awarded “with the aim of rewarding and highlighting the merit of practical and exemplary social conduct in performing the duties required in exercising any employment, profession or service”. In the coming months, an official act will take place to honour all the winners of this prestigious accolade, including celebrated individuals such as Padre Ángel, Rafael Nadal, Paco de Lucía, Esther Koplowitz, García Rodero, José Agustí Casanova, Vicente Calatayud Maldonado, Máximo Cuñado Alonso, Severino Escurís Batalla, Domingo González Guerra, Luis Navarro García, Marina Pacheco Valduesa, and Pedro Vivanco.
